DAMN IT! I have working like a slave at this stupid computer for MONTHS. I was finally going to get away and slide the driftboat into one of my favorite coastal rivers this coming weekend, but the old weatherman is predicting monsoon like weather. Been there, done that. Don’t need another t-shirt.. A few years ago, one of my regular fishing buddies (John) and I were on the same river when a storm hit. You know it’s going to get ugly when the wind goes from a light breeze to sounding like a train flying overhead in a matter of seconds. And Ugly it got. The worst part was that we had just got started when it hit. We had to bump and grind down river for three miles. We had to bail several times to keep the boat from getting too heavy. It was not a fun trip, to say the least. But that’s fall Chinook fishing… Maybe we’ll get lucky and the weather will not be as bad as predicted….
